TOKYO, JAPAN December 10, 2002 --- NTT DoCoMo, Inc. announced today that it will introduce three new  3G mobile phones featuring continuous dynamic stand-by of approximately 170-180 hours or 230-250 hours of static stand-by time, approximately 3.3 times longer than the original FOMA models. The three models are the N2051 (mid December release), F2051 (late December) and P2102V (late January). |
| The new models will be compatible with i-motion mail™, a new service DoCoMo will launch in mid December to enable FOMA phones to e-mail photos and 15-second / 100-Kb video clips. FOMA customers can use the new service to e-mail content recorded with the phones' built-in cameras, as well as sound/video clip files, as e-mail attachments (in MP4 file). Photos can be taken and transmitted as e-mail attachments even when the user is talking on the phone, and the P2102V offers the same feature for video clips and live video (conferencing) as well. DoCoMo also announced that from mid December its i-motion™ video clip downloading service for FOMA phones will accept files of up to 300 Kb, three times larger than at present. The enhancement means users can enjoy video clips of higher quality and longer length (up to about 40 seconds, compared with about 15 seconds at present). The F2051 comes with its own built-in CCD camera and both the N2051 and P2102V boast two built-in CMOS cameras. The cameras record both photos and video (15 frames/second). Beginning with these models, all standard FOMA models will have built-in cameras. The new models all support Java™ Archive (JAR) applications and data of up to 200 Kb, about 20 times larger than previous models, enabling the use of richer content with Java applications under the i-  ppli™ service.Both i- ppli and i-motion applications stored in the phones can be used as stand-by screens.The new models, as well as all future FOMA handsets (except data-card type), are equipped for infrared communications to exchange data directly with all other DoCoMo phones equipped with an infrared port. |

| Currently, FOMA is available to 95% of the population in the Kanto-Koshinetsu area and 82% of the populated area nationwide. By the end of March 2003, FOMA will be available to 90% of all populated areas nationwide, and 97% by the end of March 2004. |
