NTT DoCoMo to Introduce New i-mode Phone

Products & Services
TOKYO, JAPAN, November 8, 2002 --- NTT DoCoMo, Inc. announced today that the company will begin marketing a new compatible handset, dubbed F212i, from November 12, 2002. The phone is the first DoCoMo handset to incorporate an English-Japanese dictionary, which contains approx. 400,000 words.

Equipped with a 1.8 inch, 65,536 color display, the new model measures just 13 mm when folded, making it the thinnest DoCoMo i-mode handset on the market.

Users can lock the mova F212i remotely by calling the handset from a pre-registered phone. This function is convenient if the user accidentally forgets the handset and wants to prevent unknown parties from operating it and accessing private information, such as telephone numbers.

The new mova handset can also be programmed to automatically notify the user, via alarm or on-screen icon, when communications charges have reached their limit.

A reminder function lets users input up to 100 birthdays, appointments and other important dates and times. The phone will notify users of these events or tasks on the date specified, either by alarm or on-screen icon indicating event time or title.

Two interchangeable covers add color to the phone's exterior.

The mova F212i will be marketed through all DoCoMo sales channels. The retail price is open (not fixed). The standard accessory kit, including a battery pack, AC adapter and desktop holder, costs 6,400 yen.

For handset specifications, please refer to the attachment.
