TOKYO, JAPAN, July 4, 2002 --- NTT DoCoMo, Inc. today announced that its third communications satellite, N-STAR c, manufactured by Lockheed-Martin Corporation, will be launched on July 6, 2002 (Japan Standard Time), by Arianespace, the European space transportation company, from its launch site in French Guiana. |

DoCoMo currently operates two satellites, N-STAR a and N-STAR b, providing  satellite mobile communications services. N-STAR c will serve to ensure the continuation of the company's high-quality satellite mobile communications service.The orbit position of N-STAR c, which is scheduled to begin operating in late August 2002, will be at 136 degrees east.
