New York, NY, March 1, 2002 - NTT DoCoMo, Inc., Japan's leading mobile communications operator, is pleased to announce the listing of its American Depository Shares (ADSs) on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker symbol DCM. Trading will begin at 9:30 a.m. EST today. In addition, today at 3:00 a.m. EST, trading of the company's ordinary shares began on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol NDCM.

The listings in New York and London will expand investment opportunities to a wider investor base, enhance the global liquidity of DoCoMo's shares, and provide the company with greater financing options to sustain its global expansion plans. Moreover, DoCoMo believes that its enhanced worldwide profile will support the development of global markets for its mobile multimedia services.

Dr. Keiji Tachikawa, President and CEO of NTT DoCoMo, stated, "We are very pleased to announce the listing of our ADSs on the New York Stock Exchange this morning. Combined with our listing earlier today on the London Stock Exchange and our presence on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, NTT DoCoMo is now traded on three of the world's most vibrant and important stock exchanges. This corporate milestone will enable NTT DoCoMo to increase our shareholder base and enhance our global liquidity by reaching new institutional and retail investors."

He continued, "Access to greater liquidity will help us accelerate efforts to expand our business and broaden the use of our industry-setting wireless technologies in critical international markets like the United States. We are excited about the growth opportunities in this country and our goal is to expand our wireless operations in the U.S. Currently, we are working with AT&T Wireless, in which we have a 16% equity investment. AT&T Wireless is constructing a General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) network and beginning multimedia services. We expect to launch our i-mode mobile Internet and third generation mobile communications services in the U.S. in the near future."

Dr. Tachikawa concluded, "We also intend to build on our alliances with other leading U.S.-based companies, such as Sun Microsystems, Microsoft, AOL Time Warner and Hewlett-Packard. At NTT DoCoMo, we will continue to leverage our technology through joint ventures and equity investments in mobile service companies and multimedia firms in North America, Europe, the Asia-Pacific region and other markets."

"The New York Stock Exchange is honored to welcome NTT DoCoMo, one of the world's leading wireless telecommunications companies, to our list of the greatest global brands," said NYSE Chairman and CEO Dick Grasso. "As a worldwide leader in technology, NTT DoCoMo applies innovation to improve the way the world communicates and conducts business. We look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership with NTT DoCoMo."

DoCoMo has been listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange since 1998. As of January 31, 2002, DoCoMo's market capitalization was approximately 14 trillion yen, or approximately US$105.7 billion (based on the January 31, 2002 exchange rate).

Additionally, in connection with DoCoMo's NYSE listing, DoCoMo's exchange offer for outstanding Rule 144A American Depositary Shares expired on February 26, 2002. All Rule 144A ADSs validly tendered into the exchange offer have been accepted for payment and are being exchanged for ADSs listed on the NYSE per the terms of the exchange offer, and the Rule 144A ADS program will be terminated.
