| In addition, DoCoMo Hokkaido, DoCoMo Tohoku, DoCoMo Hokuriku, DoCoMo Chugoku, DoCoMo Shikoku and DoCoMo Kyushu will launch FOMA services in major areas of their respective markets beginning April 1. The FOMA service will be available in virtually every major city and cover 60% of the nation's populated areas as of April. |
| Moreover, as a result of further expansion schedule this autumn, the FOMA service area will cover 90% of all populated areas by the end of fiscal 2002. |
| In this summer the company will introduce "dual network" system, which will enable users who own both a FOMA and conventional (PDC ) DoCoMo mobile phone to use the same phone number for both handsets. |
| Between April 1 and August 31,2002 - prior to the introduction of the dual network system - customers using two FOMA phones, or a FOMA and PDC or PHS phone, will receive discounts on their monthly basic fees for each phone. The discounts will be up to 55% for FOMA phones. The discount rates will vary depending on the customer's specific billing plan. In addition, the FOMA application fee will be waived during this period. (DoCoMo Hokkaido customers will be waived form April 1 to September 30) |
