TOKYO, JAPAN, November 5. 2001 --- NTT DoCoMo, Inc. announced today that it will release guidelines, written in English, to the basic specifications of i-mode, the company's highly popular mobile internet access service. The guidelines will be made available today at 5 p.m. (Japan time) in PDF format at www.nttdocomo.com.

The specifications will cover protocol stack, security, user interface, downloading, and messaging.

Through the disclosure, NTT DoCoMo aims to make
i-mode specifications more accessible to handset and server vendors, and enable these companies to work more closely with operators to develop products for mobile multimedia services worldwide.

NTT DoCoMo is also contributing to the spread of mobile multimedia services, including new 3G services, through equity and management participation in operators worldwide.
