| TOKYO, JAPAN, July 9, 2001--- NTT DoCoMo, Inc. today is shifting its U.S. headquarters (NTT DoCoMo USA, Inc.) from San Jose, California to New York City. At the same time, newly appointed NTT DoCoMo USA, Inc. President Nobuharu Ono also is being appointed to the Board of Directors of AT&T Wireless. Ono will also retain his title of Deputy Senior Executive Manager, Global Business Division of NTT DoCoMo, Inc. As NTT DoCoMo's most important office in the United States, NTT DoCoMo USA, Inc. will work closely with local partners, including AT&T Wireless. DoCoMo's San Jose office will remain as an affiliate office of NTT DoCoMo USA and be renamed Pacific Division. The office will oversee all of DoCoMo's operations on the West Coast. DoCoMo will also establish an affiliated office in Washington D.C. (Washington D.C. Division) to gather information related to the U.S. telecommunications industry. Current NTT DoCoMo USA President Masaki Yoshikawa will head up the Pacific Division, while Tatsushiro Shukunami will serve as president of the Washington D.C. Division. |
