TOKYO, JAPAN, July 16, 2001 --- NTT DoCoMo, Inc., today notified Japan's Minister of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications that the company will introduce a new fee system for its packet communication service "DoPa". The company also notified the minister that the company would change the name of its multiple-number discount-fee system from "Telemetering Multi-Number Discount" to "DoPa Multi-Number Discount". The company aims to start accepting applications for both of the DoPa discount systems throughout Japan on October 1, 2001. The new fee system will go into effect on November 1, 2001.
Based on the application that the company submitted to the minister today, the company is planning to discount the communications charges for its DoPa service. Details concerning the terms and conditions of the new discount system are set forth below.
