CeBIT 2001 is one of the world's largest trade fairs for Office Automation, Information Technology and Telecommunications. The event introduces cutting-edge products and technologies from around the world. Numerous forums, professional meetings and exhibitor seminars are also held during the event.
NTT DoCoMo will have a stand at the event, which is to be held at Hannover Messe. The firm will introduce conceptual terminals and service applications of "FOMA," the service brand name for its third-generation (IMT-2000) wireless communications system slated to go into service in Japan by the end of this May. Two-way moving picture transmission between PDAs will be demonstrated at DoCoMo's stand as well.
The company also will display an outline and various content of its popular "i-mode" mobile Internet service. Moreover, visitors will be able to enjoy i appli, a new i-mode service based on Sun Microsystems' Java technology, and see music and video content distribution services as well as location services.
DoCoMo's stand will be located in Hall 16 within the Telecommunication Zone (Stand No. F23) and cover an area of 394 square-meters.
NTT DoCoMo also will host a corporate seminar at CeBIT 2001. Mr. Kyoji Murakami, Senior Manager of NTT DoCoMo IMT-2000 Network Office, will deliver a speech titled "DoCoMo IMT-2000: Current Activities and Future Development" at the exhibition center's "CC Saal
hall" on Saturday, March 24, 2001, 10:15-11:05 a.m.
