NTT DoCoMo to Introduce Discounts for PHS Data Communications

TOKYO, JAPAN, November 30, 2001---NTT DoCoMo, Inc. and its eight regional companies today notified the Minister of Public Management, Home Affairs, and Posts and Telecommunications of a plan to offer discount services for Personal Handyphone System (PHS) 32kpbs/64kbps circuit-switched data communications.

The new discount services, dubbed "P-p@c 10," "P-p@c 20," are available together with Paldio Data Plus, a basic plan for PHS voice and data communications. With the discounts, communications charges become cheaper than regular Paldio Data Plus rates after certain amounts of communication time are exceeded (please see chart in attachment).

Applications for the discount services will be accepted nationwide from January 24, 2002. The discounts will take effect on February 1, 2002.

Service P-p@c 10 P-p@c 20
Outline Provides up to 600 minutes (10 hours) of data transmission time for a flat charge of 2,500 yen. Provides up to 1,200 minutes (20 hours) of data transmission time for a flat charge of 3,200 yen.
Total monthly charges 4,480 yen, which includes basic monthly charge of 1,980 yen and P-p@c 10 flat charge of 2,500 yen. 5,180 yen, which includes basic monthly charge of 1,980 yen and P-p@c 20 flat charge of 3,200 yen.
Applicable numbers Internet provider* and intranet LAN telephone numbers compatible with P-p@c.
Charges after service time is depleted Remaining time bundled with Paldio Data Plus is applied.
Once this time is depleted, customers pay 10 yen per minute.
Compatible terminals PHS terminals compatible with 32kbps/64kbps circuit-switched data communications.
* NTT DoCoMo will announce these designated numbers by January 24, 2002, via its website and other channels. Users are responsible for any access fees of Internet providers.
