TOKYO, June 30, 2000---NTT DoCoMo announced today that it will supply its popular Internet-enabled mobile phones called, "i-mode," and pagers to domestic and international journalists and delegates attending the Kyushu-Okinawa Group of Eight (G-8) summit to be held July 21- 23, 2000. Through this effort, NTT DoCoMo hopes to share Japan's high standard of information technology.
The "i-mode" phones and pagers will be lent out to the journalists and the G-8 participants from July 19 through July 24, 2000. Throughout the period, summit-related information will be provided via the wireless terminals.
The specific equipment to be supplied includes:
* i-mode phones: about 300 NEC Color handsets (English language)
* Pagers: about 300 SCOOPER D56 terminals
