NTT DoCoMo Concludes MoU Regarding Equity Participation in Dutch

TOKYO, JAPAN, May 9, 2000 -- NTT DoCoMo, Inc. signed a Memorandum of Understanding today with Dutch-based KPN* and its subsidiary, a holding company and cellular phone service provider, KPN Mobile N.V., under which NTT DoCoMo will acquire 15% of the voting rights in KPN Mobile in exchange for approximately Euro 5 billion**.

Through the investment in KPN Mobile N.V., NTT DoCoMo intends to become involved in Europe's mobile communications business. After a definitive agreement is reached on the equity subscription, NTT DoCoMo will have the right to nominate at least one representative to the Supervisory Board of KPN Mobile N.V. In addition, NTT DoCoMo will provide technical support to assist in the introduction of the IMT-2000 third-generation mobile system, and mobile multimedia services.
