NTT DoCoMo to market PDC/PHS dual-mode terminal and data card which supports

NTT Mobile Communications Network, Inc. (NTT DoCoMo; President: Keiji Tachikawa, headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) announced that it will sell a new terminal dubbed "Doccimo SH811" and a new data card called "64K Paldio Data/ FAX Card DC-6S for Doccimo".

The Doccimo SH811 is compatible with both the 800MHz Personal Data Communications system (PDC) and the Personal Handy-phone System (PHS), with its 64kbps data transmission speed capacity. Doccimo SH811 users will have both PDC and PHS phone numbers. With their terminals set in "standby" mode, they can receive calls to either their PDC or PHS numbers. Furthermore, when making a call, they can choose which system they wish to use. When the terminal is switched to PHS mode and connected to PCs or PDAs, up to 64kbps data transmission is available.

NTT DoCoMo will start selling the terminals and data cards from April 19, 1999.
