NTT Group to Participate in CeBIT '99

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) and five other members of the NTT Group will take part in the CeBIT '99 international telecommunications exhibition in Hanover, Germany from March 18 to 24.

The six companies are NTT, NTT Mobile Communications Network, Inc. (NTT DoCoMo), NTT Advanced Technology Corporation, NTT International Corporation, NTT Software Corporation and NTT Deutschland GmbH. The booth, located in Building 25, will span approximately 540 square meters, making it the largest booth the NTT Group has ever organized for CeBIT.

The theme of the NTT Group's exhibit will be "A Global Partner You Can Trust." The booth will be divided in four zones, each with its own sub-theme: "Solution", "Innovation", "Ecology" and "Mobile". Each zone, in addition to presenting outstanding past achievements, will also exhibit a variety of equipment, including demonstrations, to create greater awareness in Europe for the NTT Group, the largest telecommunications carrier in Asia.

The major exhibits will include:

* Arcstar-brand global end-to-end telecom services for corporate users.
* InterPOD system enabling resource sharing for work collaboration.
* FC-IWU system for super high-speed file transfers using the ATM MegaLink leased-circuit service.
* Interspace technology realizing virtual-reality using three dimension.
* Optical fiber technology, including for cost reduction.
Innovation
* On-demand technology to distribute images without burdening networks excessively.
* Parts, materials and measuring equipment to support next-generation telecom networks.
* Technology transfer
Ecology
* Total Power Revolution activities for greatly reducing electricity consumption by telecommunication systems.
* Solar-powered water purification system
Mobile
* NTT DoCoMo will demonstrate service applications using wide-band CDMA system to provide a concrete image of the service after its commercialization.
