The specific plans now being examined are as follows:
| 1. | Improvement of mobile functions in the Windows CE operating system NTT DoCoMo and Microsoft will construct the |
| 2. | Joint development of data center services utilizing mobile terminals NTT DoCoMo and Microsoft will jointly develop data center services accessible in the wireless environment. The data center service will enable users to access e-mail, individual schedule tables, and address books, etc. from their terminals. By combining NTT DoCoMo's cellular telephone technology and Microsoft's data center service technology, the data centers can be easily accessed from mobile terminals. Furthermore, NTT DoCoMo and Microsoft will also study the feasibility of joint development of mobile terminals (including handheld PCs, palm-sized PCs and developed forms of cellular phones) and software that are most suitable for accessing data centers, on the basis of Windows CE and Microbrowser (currently being developed by Microsoft). |
| 3. | Support for PHS high-speed data communications, using products based on Windows CE Regarding Windows CE products, NTT DoCoMo and Microsoft aim to construct an environment where users can easily enjoy PHS high-speed data communications services through conducting joint development of multimedia applications which enable users to enjoy high-speed data communications with Windows CE, and discussing ways to improve Windows CE performance. NTT DoCoMo and Microsoft will further advance their cooperative relationship and promote the development of mobile multimedia. |
