NTT Mobile Communications Network, Inc. (NTT DoCoMo; Kouji Ohboshi, President; Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan) and Telephone Organization of Thailand (TOT; Tongchai Yongchareon, President; Headquarters: Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand), a Thailand Telecommunications operator, have agreed to promote mutual cooperation including for a next-generation mobile communications system (IMT-2000) and have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to that effect.
This MoU is regarded as the first step of the mutual collaboration on Wideband CDMA (W-CDMA), and both companies intend to exchange technologies on W-CDMA.
