| NTT Mobile Communications Network, Inc. (NTT DoCoMo; Keiji Tachikawa, President; headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) announced that it would accept young engineers as trainees at the request of the Economic Development Board of Singapore (EDB).
With the support of the EDB, NTT DoCoMo has been jointly carrying out Wideband CDMA (W-CDMA) experiments for a next-generation mobile communications system, with SingTel Mobile and CWC since November 1997. SingTel Mobile is the biggest mobile telecommunication operator in Singapore and CWC is a national research center affiliated with the National University of Singapore.
