NTT Mobile Communications Network, Inc. (NTT DoCoMo, President: Keiji Tachikawa, Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) and SmarTone (SmarTone Mobile Communications Ltd., CEO: Huberg Ng, Headquarters: Hong Kong), a Hong Kong telecommunications operator, have signed an agreement to exchange information. In so doing, both firms also will study the feasibility of a deeper tie-up on a technological level at some point in the future. NTT DoCoMo and SmarTone will exchange technological information, including respective data on IMT-2000, the proposed standard for a third-generation mobile communication system. |
