NTT Mobile Communications Network Inc. (NTT DoCoMo), established as a totally private company under the Japanese Commercial Law, actively seeks and procures high-quality, cost-effective products in the worldwide market in order to compete with other companies in the market. To this end, NTT DoCoMo voluntarily applies open, fair and non-discriminatory procedures for its procurement. In this connection, NTT DoCoMo has itself initiated the implementation of improvement measures of its procurement procedures, which are, in principle, the same as the recent improvement measures of the procurement procedures of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT).
Major improvement measures are outlined as follows:
1. Procurement announcements through Internet web site NTT DoCoMo will make procurement announcements through NTT DoCoMo's Internet web site instead of the Kampo.
2. Streamlined procedures for Track II procurement NTT DoCoMo will streamline its procurement procedures by terminating issuance of RFIs under Track II procedures.
3. Further provision of information NTT DoCoMo will specify a centralized contact point for suppliers. NTT DoCoMo will, upon request, provide necessary technical information and, where appropriate, arrange for suppliers to conduct consultations with NTT DoCoMo's technical experts.
