NTT Mobile Communications Network, Inc. (NTT DoCoMo; Kouji Ohboshi, President; Capital: 15.9 billion) will hold a Technology Conference for Next-Generation Mobile Communications Technologies on November 21, 1997 in Tokyo, with the participation, such as mobile communications operators, from Asia and Oceanic regions.
Conferees will discuss the following: (1) Efforts to establish international standards of a next-generation mobile communications system (2) Technology of wideband CDMA (W-CDMA), which is being developed as a candidate next-generation mobile communications system (IMT2000) (3) Details of scheduled W-CDMA system tests NTT DoCoMo has sought and built cooperative relations in the industry to contribute to the international standardization efforts of ITU and other organizations.
