Single-chip LSI

A single chip that incorporates many of the circuits that were formerly implemented as separate devices or the technology used to make such a chip. The single-chip LSIs in mobile phones incorporate the processing system (CPU, memory, etc.), the wireless system (modem, amplifier, etc.) and peripheral systems (LCD controller and voice input/output) to reduce power consumption and simplify the circuitry.
