QRM-MLD

Complexity-reduced Maximum Likelihood Detection with QR decomposition and the M-algorithm. An algorithm used in MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) processing. In space division multiplexing, computation is required for separating signals when receiving data. If done simply, the computation must be done 400 trillion times or more. QRM-MLD greatly reduces the amount of computation, and is an essential technique for implementing actual services. NTT DOCOMO developed ASESS (adaptive selection of surviving symbol replica candidate) as a further improvement on this method.
