Mobile Oriented Applications Platform. The software platform for NTT DOCOMO's FOMA service. To combat the rising cost of software development that comes with advanced mobile phone functions, the basic mobile phone functions are provided as components so that developers can concentrate on the development of new functions and independent applications. The intended result is lower terminal cost for mobile phone operators.
