MIMO-MLD

MIMO maximum likelihood detection. One computation technique for separating the data received from multiple antennas in MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output), a super 3G or 4G technology. While this method has the lowest bit error rate (BER), it also has the heaviest processing load, making it difficult to implement in small, energy-efficient hardware. In June 2005, NTT DOCOMO developed a MIMO-MLD method that employs a proprietary algorithm that has been verified to result in a real-time packet transmission rate of 1 Gbps in the 100 MHz frequency band.
