FeliCa®

A contactless IC card technology developed by Sony. The card includes integrated non-volatile memory and a wireless communication chip for data exchange when held near a compatible reader/writer. Applications include e-money, prepaid commuter passes, ID cards and card-keys. A FeliCa® chip is embedded in all “Osaifu-Keitai” mobile-wallet phones.
