Development of LTE (Super 3G) system

DOCOMO is developing Super 3G - new technology to enhance the concept of HSPA.
Super 3G provides peak throughput over 100 Mbps/50 Mbps in the downlink/uplink, reduces call setup delay and end-to-end delay, and improves spectrum efficiency. Super 3G is being standardized in 3GPP, The standards body for WCDMA, under the name 3G Long Term Evolution (LTE).
Core specifications of LTE have already been approved in the end of 2007.
DOCOMO aims to complete development of commercial LTE (Super 3G) system by the end of 2009.
