ITU Telecom World 2006

NTT DoCoMo is pleased to announce that thee NTT Group companies, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, NTT Communications Corporation, and NTT DoCoMo will participate in ITU Telecom World 2006, the largest IT-telecommunications exhibition in the world, featuring the latest telecommunications technologies, services, and product development. The event will be held December 4-8, 2006, at Asia World-Expo in Hong Kong.

As a pioneer in mobile multimedia services, we will introduce both our achievements up to now and our future vision to realize a mobile phone that is useful in all aspects of daily life and business situations.

As their volume and quality continue to grow, music and games can be downloaded faster via the i-mode, NTT DoCoMo's mobile Internet service. The latest mobile phones are all capable of 3G roaming, enabling video phone calls to various areas including here in Hong Kong. We offer ample services as part of our "lifestyle infrastructure" business, such as the One-Segment mobile TV phone, which allows the user to watch television programs, and Osaifu-Keitai, or mobile phone with wallet functions, which can be used as a credit card, e-money or a ticket.

We are also engaged in peripheral mobile multimedia business with non-carrier telecommunication companies.

– Safety and Security Supporting Services

We offer a variety of services to provide users with peace of mind, such as the i-mode Message Board Service for making emergency contact in natural disasters or security functions to protect mobile phone data in the event the phone is lost or stolen. We are also looking to improve usability for all people, considering of the environment, and aggressively pursuing the development of mobile phones environmentally friendly.

– Evolving Mobile Networks

Our mobile networks and the world-class technological capabilities that support them are evolving rapidly. The HSDPA service enhances W-CDMA, started in September 2006 and offers a maximum downlink speed of up to 3.6 Mbps for a much larger volume and higher quality of image and music content. NTT DoCoMo is already working on developing a 4G system.
